Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture series deals with the topis: Why conservation of nature? Which are the international and national categories of species and area conservation? Which are the tasks and legal duties to be implemented? The problems of species release and reintroduction, revitalisation and management, as well as monitoring and evaluation of conservation programs are discussed. Austrian case studies illustrate praxis and conflicts.
Assessment and permitted materials
one-hour written exam at the end of the lecture block, additional terms are announced.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The participants avail knowledge on the international and national categories of nature conservation and the legal consequences. They are aware of problems in conservation praxis.
