300405 UE Practical Ornithology (2009S)

Practical course to learn the basic techniques for field and lab work on birds. Students will learn, among other things, how to identify and observe birds, collect scientific data and to write reports. Measuring morphological characters and plumage colours will be covered as well. Topics in breeding and population biology will be treated in study plots with nest boxes. Field work will be carried out at the study sites of the K. Lorenz-Institut of the AAS.
