Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Connections between different disciplines of the natural sciences, humanities and arts will be established from the aspect of structure. Our main focus will be on molecular structures. However, other fields will also be examined through a selection of fundamental scientific and artistic literature/materials: architecture, aesthetics, arts, music, performance art, literature, philosophy and psychology. Finally, visualizations will be discussed both from an artistic and an engineering perspective as they bear on the various disciplines.
Assessment and permitted materials
Based on seminar presentations and active participation in discussions.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
A sound understanding of molecular structural biology and its possible points of contact with other disciplines.
Examination topics
Students will prepare presentations based on selected literature and material. Presentations will be followed by a thorough discussion.
