The content of the practical relates to the diversity of structure and function of flowers. Selected examples (mainly living material) are used to illustrate the following themes: evolution and functiona differentiation of the perianth; morphological and functional diversity of the androecium; structure and progressions of the chori- and syncarpous gynoecium; form types of flowers and pseudanthia; pollination syndromes; floral structure and variation of monocot flowers; keel flowers in various plant families; nectar-, pollen-, perfume-, oil-, deceptive-, and kettle trap-flowers, wind- and water flowers.
