Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The laboratory course covers the most commonly applied analytical methods for measuring electric conductivity, pH, acidity, alkalinity, mineral and nutrient components of natural fresh water.
Assessment and permitted materials
immanent:
The sufficiency and the accuracy of a report to be presented by every participant at the end of every course unit will be evaluated .
The sufficiency and the accuracy of a report to be presented by every participant at the end of every course unit will be evaluated .
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The students know the principles of instrumental analysis and are able to determine chemical parameters as pH, alcalinity, acidity, electrical conductivity, as well as the concentrations of chloride, the most common fractions of o-phosphate, o-silicate, nitrate, nitrite, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium.
Examination topics
Every lab course starts with a discussion of the limnochemical context of the focused parameter as well as of the procedure of its determination.
During the subsequent lab activity phase, participants are trained step by step to acquire the handling of instrumental analytical methods.
