Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course is especially focusing on very basic main topics of empirical research, its orientation is always towards the practical aspects. Therefore, it can only be subscribed in connection with Computer Training to Applied Statistics for Biologists. Contents: Organising data, basic principals of statistics, descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing, interpretation of results, graphical display.

Written (final publication) and continuous oral examinations

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Deepening of statistical basic knowledge, application-oriented approach, adequate choice of analytic method, interpretation of statistics output, verbalisation of precise conclusions

Theoretical lectures, lots of practical exercises on the computer, homework
