Aims, contents and method of the course

Implementation of the EU nature conservation legislation in Austria and the EU Member States: Site designation (Natura 2000), establishment of site management, procedure of appropriate assessment of plans and projects, monitoring of conservation status, evaluation and report to the European Commission, species protection regime.

Assessment and permitted materials

Dependent on the number of candidates: oral or written exam

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course shall provide knowledge especially for the subsequent fields:
- Needed data for the European nature conservation
- Methods for the implementation of conservation measures
- Co-ordination and administration of the European nature conservation
- Potential working-opportunities in the field of European nature conservation
