Aims, contents and method of the course

a. Aims: Basic understanding of concepts and methods of classical and modern genetics;
b. Content: Mitosis, cell cycle, meiosis, recombination, Mendelian genetics, gene mapping, nuclear organization, developmental genetics, human genetics, genetic sex determination, quantitative genetics, population genetics, DNA structure and replication, gene regulation, viruses, haploid genetics, genomics-proteomics, cancer genetics, methods in genetics, special topics in modern genetics.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written final exam in multiple choice form

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

a. Minimum requirements: To attain a pass grade, 50 % of the maximum number of possible points are necessary
b. Assessment criteria (evaluation scale):
35-40 points: 1 (very good)
from 30 points: 2 (good)
from 25 points: 3 (satisfactory)
from 20 points: 4 (sufficient)
<20 points: 5 (insufficient)
