Aims, contents and method of the course
This lecture will give an overview on the most important concepts of economics, strategy, marketing, management and accounting in the field of the Life Sciences industry and will provide an overview on the life sciences location Austria with focus Vienna.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Widening of know how beyond science, rough understanding of economic concepts with focus on Life Science industries. A basis for advanced courses and (particularly in combination with the practical course in the summer term) for the investigation of commercial exploitation of scientific results.
Examination topics
Presentations (powerpoint, blackboard) supported by literature (incl. internet) and discussions and (optinal) participation of an experienced start up-manager.
Reading list
Books, magazines and internet sources are presented in the course. Example: "Key figures for managing directors, Peter Kralicek", Nature Biotech, websites of companies and institutions.
