Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture offers a comprehensive insight into modern neuroscience. The lecture is structured into three blocks and will be held in 30 units with the following teaching content:

Block 1: Fundamentals (9 Units)
Developmental neurobiology, neuroanatomy, basics of neurophysiology, neurotransmission

Block 2: Neuronal circuits of behaviour and cognition (9 Units)
Neuronal oscillations and synchrony, spatial representation of memory, autonomous system, motor system, attention and visual representations, smell, tast, auditory system, vestibular system, neuronal circuits of decisionmaking, neuronal circuits of emotion

Block 3: Neuropathology (12 Units)
Drugs and neurotransmitters, neuroimmunology, axonal degeneration and regeneration, pain and touch, epilepsy, Alzheimer, Parkinson, addiction, schizophrenia, depression

Assessment and permitted materials

60 minute Written exam,
Questions will be form all parts of the lecture. There will be 8 short questions with a maximun of 4 points per quesion and two assay questions with 10 points each.
