Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course is designed to allow students to interpret the function and specificity of proteins by looking at the structure. In other words: you will be able to easily understand the beautiful pictures of proteins that you find everywhere in journals and also be able to make them yourself. The first few weeks deal with the concepts; we then ask biological questions and answer them with specific structures. The course will provide an introduction to the Protein Data Base (PDB), the software PyMOL and AlphaFold. Students will be provided with an electronic copy of my book: Exploring Protein Structure: principles and practice.
