Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This lecture series discusses in detail the mechanisms, signals and consequences of lymphocyte activation. Novel findings about DNA-Recombination and hypermutation of antigen receptor genes will be discussed. Also, the basis of hypermutation and autoimmunity will be explained. Furthermore, the recently elucidated functions of neutrophils and NK cells will be presented, with focus on molecular mechanisms of signal transduction and signaling pathways.
Assessment and permitted materials
written exam
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Participants have understood the molecular mechanisms of signal transduction and signaling pathways which regulate functions of immune cells.
Maximum points: 12. Usually 4 questions, 3 points/question
Grading key: <6,5 = 5 (insufficient); 6,5 – 7,8 = 4 (sufficient); 7,9 – 9,2 = 3 (satisfactory); 9,3 – 10,6 = 2 (good); 10,7 - 12 = 1 (very good)
