We will arrange the dates for 2 lectures (of 2 hours) and a Minisymposium at this first meeting.

You can decide after we've presented the program if you want to take the seminar or not. Also if you are on the waiting list, try to come because it might be possible to join the course if spaces are freed up.

Aims, contents and method of the course

Increasing knowledge of regulatory RNAs and their cellular function; critical reading and presentation of primary literature

Assessment and permitted materials

Compulsory attendance; the evaluation consists of different parts: active participation in discussion, presentation of short topics and a research paper, quality and completeness of the seminar presentation
scientific discussion of the presented publications, written records (the percentage of the subgrades will be announced by the course leader); each of the subgrades must have a positive evaluation.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

You will learn about regulatory RNAs; you will search for good research papers in PUBMED, recognize what a good paper is, present the work to your peers and learn what the main questions in RNA research are.

Examination topics

compulsory attendence and active participation during lectures of the seminar,
short written texts as home work
paper selection, presentation and hand-out

Reviews will be uploaded in Moodle
primary literature like papers found in PUBMED or BioRxiv
