Aims, contents and method of the course

ECTS-points: 4.0
Aim: Theoretical background of magistral medical prescriptions, identification and recognition of incompatibilities, autonomous repair of formulation problems.
Content: Regulations and use of the Pharmacopoeia Europea, structure of medical prescriptions, regulations for magistral formulae. Price calculation according the 'Austrian Arzneitaxe'. Explanation of the preparation of prescriptions in small amounts in a public pharmacy or hospital pharmacy. Physical and chemical background of solutions, powders, maceratae, infusae, decoctae, capsules, suspensions, emulsions, microemulsions, suppositories, eye drops, ointments and homoeopathic formulations. Detection of possible incompatibilities on prescriptions. Explanation of the program of the practical course on magistral formulations.
Prerequisite: 1st part of pharmacy study completed
