Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Chemistry of natural products. Primary metabolites: Aminoacids, peptides, proteines, carbohydrates, mucleosides, nucleotides, lipids.
Essential biologically active compounds: Vitamines, co-emzymes, tetra-pyrrols, hormones, pheromones
Secundary metabolites: Terpenes, steroids, aromatic compounds, alkaloids.

Assessment and permitted materials

written test; 2 hrs

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To learn about the different classes of natural products, their biological function and chemical properties.
