Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course amends the theoretical background of the students regarding the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins with laborchemical analyses and anthropometical measurements in order to determine the body composition. To write a term paper is the first insight into scientific writing and literature search.

Assessment and permitted materials

The grading consists of work performed in the laboratory (30%), the anthropometric part (15%), the final examination (multiple choice, open-end questions, chemical arithmetic; 40%) and the term paper (15%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To pass the course, an overall performance of at least 60% has to be reached.

Examination topics

Laborchemical analytics as well as quantitative analytics by means of photometry.
Anthropometric measurements. Literature research. Writing of a term paper.
