Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Simultaneous interpreting. From dealing with difficulties in the field of rapid acquisition and analysis of orally delivered texts in the source language and transposition into the target language on the basis of lectures, interviews, live discussions, speeches, etc. Provision of working materials, preliminary discussion: terminology, text type, situation (e-learning and presence). Interpreting into German and Portuguese. Debriefing and discussion (partly in chat or, if necessary, via Zoom and also reflection in the e-portfolio). Peering and evaluation. Several topics will be covered during the semester as simulated interpreting assignments.

Assessment and permitted materials

Exam immanent, including assessment of performance from preparation to simulated interpretations as well as reflection, transcription with self-evaluation.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Improving anticipation skills and linguistic agility, getting used to different pronunciations, speaking speeds and voices, preparation for professional interpreting assignments.

Examination topics

Examination immanent. Achievement of the course objectives through simulated and practice-related short assignments on the topics covered in the course of the term as well as regular self-reflection (independently in the portfolio and also through discussion during the classroom teaching).
