Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Translation of complex German or English source texts from a variety of fields for expert readers
Assessment and permitted materials
Presentation, contributions to discussions in class, 2 written exams (mid-term, end-of-term tests). Use of resources is allowed in the written exams.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Practice-oriented development of translation strategies and research skills
Examination topics
In class, we will discuss the translations prepared by students. Students will register for one presentation date and prepare the other texts of the semester in such a way that they will be able to suggest alternatives. The source texts will be available on Moodle one week ahead of the presentation and translations have to be handed in via Moodle no later than the Saturday preceding the presentation, 12 noon.
