Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

We will review what grammar is/can be (grammar theory), and we will also work on selected topics (e.g. tense review, conditionals, affixes, gerunds & infinitives, modal verbs, reported speech, relative clauses, the passive, ...). Students are welcome to suggest additional topics.

The language of instruction is English.

*** PLEASE NOTE *** If possible, we will follow a blended learning approach with face-to-face contact hours in December and additional e-learning sessions (optional digital live meetings not listed above will be recorded, and live participation is not mandatory).
However, it is not yet clear whether blended learning will be permitted, and students should therefore prepare for the possibility of the entire course being taught online.

*** UPDATE (Sept 18) *** Due to rising case numbers and recent research on aerosol transmission in enclosed spaces, this class will be taught online. I'm working hard to make sure that I can offer you an interesting course in an interactive learning environment. Please take care and I look forward to working with you soon!

+++ Some asynchronous activities (readings, tasks, ...) will need to be completed before our first live session. +++
