Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

- Improving skills needed to interpret and produce grammatically correct texts in English;
- Raising awareness of the Lexicon-Syntax-Semantics interface in English;
- Recognizing and using linguistic variation in the situational context;
Selected topics: Time and Tense, Aspect, Mood, Voice, Conditionals, Word Formation, Modals, Catenative Verbs, Reported Speech, Relative Clauses, The Passive, Inversion & Emphasis, Adverbs and Adjectives, Articles and Determiners;
Flipped classroom model, pair work, group work.

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment and make-up of the final grade: Mid-semester test (30%), end-of-term test (30%), two mini tests (15% each), active contribution in class (10%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Grading:
90% > 1
80% > 2
70% > 3
60% > 4 (pass grade)
< 59% 5 (fail)
