Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Romanian and German business terminology and basic business issues. Contrastive analysis of specialized business texts. Translation of specialized documents, also by using CAT-Tools and machine translation.
Translation of specialized texts, discussion, analysis, group activities, homework.

Assessment and permitted materials

Active participation in class, final test, portfolio of translations.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Acquiring competence in the translation of business texts. Improving specialized vocabulary and knowledge, improving competence in using modern terminological und digital tools. Improving research and transcultural communication skills.

Examination topics

Final test: Translation of a specialized text.

Reading list

Relevant reference works on business, specialized dictionaries. Primary literature is to be announced in class.
