Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Presence in class is required, active participation and the handing in of assignments are vital for positive final results. All performances are marked and part of continuous assessment.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students are to understand and master the basics of simultaneous interpreting.
Examination topics
Preliminary exercises as required. Students will be asked to produce texts according to certain criteria (role, context, setting, target audience). Various interpreting strategies will be devised and practiced. Students will learn practicing on their own and will develop skills with the material introduced in class.

Interpreting situations typical in various settings will be analysed and practised, emphasis being on important aspects of conference terminology.
We will focus on interpreting from E into G.
