Aims, contents and method of the course

Exploring and Understanding the background and basis of what popular culture is and how it evolved in the United States as well as other Anglo-Saxon countries. Specific themes in popular culture are looked at in depth such as gender, color, the media, cigarettes, drink and music.

Examination topics

Lecture followed by a 10-15 minute discussion. Students are free to ask questions during the lecture as well. Articles relevant to the lecture will be made available on the e-learning platform.
