Aims, contents and method of the course

We will enter a small area related to the TECHNICS: Renewable energies.
Comparative analysis of technical terms in German and Portuguese texts (print- and online-media).

Assessment and permitted materials

Performance during the semester and presentation (30%) 2 tests (70%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Enhancement of technical vocabulary. Understanding technical language in various texts and enlarge our knowledge of a certain subject - in this semester: alternative energies.
Set up your own terminology databases and use them.

Examination topics

Analysis of technical texts. Study various methods of research. Devise glossaries and learn how to deal with terminology data bases. Prepare a small presentation on a subject related to the main theme of this semester.
