Aims, contents and method of the course

Students will prepare for interpretation at short conferences in various special fields, acquire the related terminology, look for parallel texts, draw up glossaries and interpret (including relay interpretation).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students are to work independently - alone or in teams - and acquire the skills needed for extensive conference preparation in various special fields as well as apply the knowledge in practice.

Examination topics

Targeted research, parallel texts, analysis, terminology, glossaries, feedback regarding interpretation performance, if possible, live speeches.

Termine können im Verlauf des Semesters aufgrund der Kooperation mit TCH und ENG Lehrgang individuellen Anpassungen unterliegen. Diese werden vorab gemeinsam besprochen und vereinbart.

Aims, contents and method of the course

Gelegenheit zum Sammeln praxisbezogener Erfahrungen mit dem Konferenzdolmetschen (Simultan bzw. Konsekutiv) durch Simulation realer Dolmetschsituationen. Erwerb und praktische Anwendung von Kompetenzen zur Vorbereitung eines Dolmetscheinsatzes (Erarbeitung von Terminologie, Paralleltexte, Glossarherstellung) mit Augenmerk auf Kooperation innerhalb eines bzw. mehrerer Dolmetschteams. Dolmetschen sowohl PL-DE-PL als auch als mit Relais in Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Lehrgängen. Gedolmetscht werden gesprochene Reden Studierender, organisierte Diskussionen, aufgenommene Reden sowie nach Möglichkeit Gastredner und simulierte Konferenzen (mock conferences).
