Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Translate texts from German into English and English into German while looking at the words, syntax and grammar used and deciding what fit best for that particular translation and including discussions on the subject.
Gain a more in-depth understanding of how to translate various texts in the field of art and art history.

Assessment and permitted materials

Grading is based on: participation (20%), Midterm (30%), Final (30%) and Dossier (20%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

90-100: 1 or very good
80-89: 2 or good
70-79: 3 or average
60-69: 4 or passing
below 60 is failing or 5

Examination topics

similar to material translated from class including some vocabulary and only with manual dictionaries and students own personal experience/knowledge gleaned from class.
