Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

- Acquiring and practising various simultaneous interpreting techniques
- Exploring different topics (from politics, economics, art, science, etc.)
- Relay interpreting: Structured feedback to the colleagues who delivered the relay.
- Working on subject-specific vocabulary (internet research in advance) and putting your terminological knowledge into practice while working in the booth
- Simulation of last-minute preparation
- Capturing written information during interpreting (e.g. text on PowerPoint presentations).

Assessment and permitted materials

- Continuous assessment course.
- Continuous feedback from teachers and colleagues

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Presence and active participation in the classes
- High competence in the respective working languages
- Willingness to familiarise oneself with a subject area at short notice and under time pressure
- Willingness to reflect on one's own interpreting performance as well as on the interpreting performance of the colleagues and to give feedback.

Examination topics

Continuous assessment course;
