Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Translation of non-fiction texts (various topics) from English to German and vice versa.
Assessment and permitted materials
Two tests and two homework assignments; regular class attendance, preparation, and participation.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To strengthen students translation competences, such as text comprehension skills, text production skills, research techniques, etc. as well as their general language skills and vocabulary; to practice assignment-focused translation.
Examination topics
Translation of texts in class; discussion of translations prepared at home.
