Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Within this seminar we will discuss and critically reflect physiological adaptations using specific examples from sports and exercise.
Topics: (Molecular) adaptatiosn to endurance and strength training; Immunological changes; genetic determinants of athletic performance
Methods: Combined lecture and seminar

Assessment and permitted materials

Presentation, preliminary work for final essay (literature research), final essay

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

In total it is possible to reach 100 points, which are split to the following partial contributions:
-) Presentation (20 points)
-) preliminary work for final essay (literature research in Pubmed) (20 points)
-) final essay (60 points)
In total more than 50 points are necessary to reach a positive grade, but each of the contributions have to be graded with at least 50% of the points.
