Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

During this course, different neuromechanical studies and methods will be discussed. Amongst others, we will investigate how musculoskeletal/neuromechanical modelling can be used to (i) evaluate how dinosaurs used their claw for hunting and (ii) to predict surgery outcomes in children with cerebral palsy. Furthermore, the students will learn how to run musculoskeletal simulation with OpenSim. At the end of the course, the students will be able to calculate joint kinematics, joint kinetics, muscle and joint contact forces based on motion capture data.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

At the end of the course the students should know the basic concepts and methods for conducting neuromechanical studies.
Furthermore, the students should be able to conduct musculoskeletal analysis in OpenSim.

Examination topics
