Aims, contents and method of the course
Topics in international macroeconomics: current account, international capital markets, exchange rates, financial crises, etc.
Assessment and permitted materials
Students’ marks will consist of the average of a mid-term exam (40%), a final exam (40%) and an essay (20%). For the essay, the students should pick a topic of the reading list below, and discuss the state of the art in that literature on the basis of a number of recent papers (not necessarily included in this reading list).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
By the end of the course, students should be familiar with a number of canonical models in international macroeconomics and the state of the art in this area.
