Aims, contents and method of the course
Lecturer: Clara Faulí MolasThis course is a Ph.D. seminar focused on designing empirical causal inference using quantitative methods. By the end of the course, students should be able to: (1) design research to address causal theories and questions; (2) identify potential threats to the validity of findings, and (3) understand how to plan, execute and archiving research effectively.
Assessment and permitted materials
Students have to pass each assessment part (see below) to obtain a positive grade for the course.

Active participation and contribution in class (15%)
Completing all assignments including presentation and discussion role (15%)
Research outline (25%)

Topics will include materials covered in class and/or on the reading list. Some assessments may also demand students to research something themselves or collect material themselves.
