Aims, contents and method of the course
Luc Boltanski is one of the most outstanding and original contemporary representatives of French sociology. The seminar takes the most recent work, "Enrichissement. Une ciritique e la marchandise", written together with Arnaud Esquerre, as the starting point for an in-depth and critical examination, and it discusses also references to other strands and debates (Bourdieu, Foucault, Deleute, Latour etc.).
Assessment and permitted materials
Selected parts from Boltanskis books have to be prepared for each session plus a short written reflection, a kind of key question is given. At the end an overall reflection is to be written, references to own research (dissertation) are expected.
