Aims, contents and method of the course

The doctoral seminar will prepare the doctoral students for the 7th annual Graduate Conference in European History (Graceh) in April 25-27, which is organized in 2013 by the CEU in cooperation with the University of Vienna and the EUI in Florence. Upon completion of Graceh, the seminar will help to prepare publications in English language journals. Aside from these purposes related to Graceh, the seminar will serve as thesis writing seminar in which advanced doctoral students can present single chapters of their thesis and beginners their concepts.

Examination topics

The methodological basis for the discussion will be readings in comparative history, transferts culturels/Transfergeschichte, entangled history and other "relational approaches" in history and cultural studies
