Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This dissertation seminar has a special focus on Practical Philosophy, including topics in Ethics (Normative Ethics, Metaethics), Social Philosophy, Political and Legal Philosophy. The seminar should help to formulate one's dissertation project clearly. We will also talk about helpful writing and working techniques.
Students are expected to have already chosen a dissertation topic.

Personal registration by email and short outline
of the dissertation project (500 words). Please send your dissertation description along with your registration to florian.kolowrat@univie.ac.at (September 25, 2020).

Assessment and permitted materials

All students are expected to participate actively in the dissertation seminar. This includes presenting their own dissertation project in one of the sessions (based on an informative Handout) and to engage in constructive feedback to the other students' projects and presentations.
Requirements: Regular and active participation, Handouts, Exposé.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Presentation of dissertation project with Handout and Exposé: 60 %;
Active participation (discussion, feedback): 40%.
