Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course will provide an introduction to the Matlab toolbox MTEX, a powerful toolbox for the evaluation of orientation data, including spatially indexed orientation data such as EBSD maps, and X-ray pole figure data. It covers the installation of MTEX, the basics of how the toolbox works, calculations with MTEX, the import and evaluation of EBSD data and the production of publication-ready plots. Other capabilities of MTEX will be demonstrated, such as the calculation and plotting of bulk elastic properties and seismic wave speeds from orientation data and the uses of MTEX for X-ray pole figure evaluation and plotting.
