Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course has three main contents: 1) developing ideas, 2) reflecting research design; 3) planning data analysis. The number of sessions devoted to each of the contents will depend on the research progress of the participants. Contents will be excluded if they are not in the scope of participants’ current work. The preparation of the presentation will help to reflect own research ideas and design as well as to obtain a broad overview of the results. The preparation for the discussion will help to obtain new knowledge on related, yet different topics, within work and organizational psychology. It will train “healthy skepticism” which is crucial when reflecting own research ideas. The role of the discussant is essential as it will help the presenter to evaluate and refine his or her research ideas and design as well as to make the most of the dataset. The presenter should send the PPT to other participants at least 5 days before the session. Other documents do not need to be send beforehand.
Assessment and permitted materials
Each participant should prepare one presentation and serve as discussant of two presentations (The course instruction will also be a discussant at every meeting). Attendance is required (preferably) every meeting, one absence is allowed if the person is not scheduled to be a presenter or a discussant.
