Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course gives an overview of the development of Slavonic writing culture from its beginnings, the foundation of Slavonic literacy by Ss. Cyril and Methodius. The writing systems used for the Slavonic languages will be analysed (with especial emphasis on the “typical” Slavonic ones, i.e. Glagolitic and Cyrillic) as well as their formal mutations and the exterior, historical conditions of these. Second, the Slavonic literacy as such will be treated in this course.
