Aims, contents and method of the course

Basic knowledge on Slavic languages and Slavonic Studies will be taught.
Topics:
Classification and categorisation of Slavic languages
Proto-Slavic and Slavic ethnogenesis
Old Church Slavonic
Slavic writing systems
Historical background of Slavic languages
Formation of Slavic standard languages
History of Slavonic Studies
The class will be held asynchrony online via Moodle; students’ questions will be collected and addressed.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written digital exam with various types of questions. Non-native German speakers may use a dictionary.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The lecture will be completed with a digital written exam consisting of 8 questions (90 minutes time). Minimum requirement for a positive assessment is at least 50% correct answers.
100 - 87 %: Sehr gut / Very good
86,99 - 75 %: Gut / good
74,99 - 63 %: Befriedigend / Satisfactory
62,99 - 50 %: Genügend / Sufficient
49,99 - 0 %: Nicht genügend / Not sufficient
