Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

After our course you will be able to understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts and also grasp implicit meanings. You will be able to express yourself spontaneously and fluently without having to search for clearly recognisable words more often.
You can furthermore use the language effectively and flexibly in social and professional life or in education and studies (primarily in the field of literature, culture and linguistics).
At the end of the semester, you must show that you are able to express yourself clearly, in a structured and detailed manner on complex issues, making appropriate use of various means of linking texts.

We deal with literary, cultural and linguistic texts (spoken and written) on a scientific level. We analyse texts with regard to their stylistic features, we conduct oral discussions, write essays on the topics of the lessons, do exercises on idiom, syntax and grammar and analyse both literary and scientific texts and newspaper articles.
