Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture will offer an overview of central developments in Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin, and Serbian literature. It covers the period from the 19th century to the present. Epochs, currents and poetics are outlined historically as well as theoretically, and illustrated with practical examples. The students shall develop an understanding of underlying literary concerns and contexts. After completing this lecture, they should be able to explain these formations, and to classify texts specifically according to their context in literary history. The lecture contains interactive elements. Students are invited to participate, and to ask questions.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written examination to be taken without aids.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Half of the points must be achieved for a positive assessment.

Examination topics

The exam includes questions on literary history, theory, and analysis. These relate to the content covered in the lecture.
