Aims, contents and method of the course

The lecture offers a linguistic overview of the current norm of standard Czech at the different language levels: Basic knowledge of synchronic linguistics, familiarity with the relevant linguistic methods and the relevant literature are the contents of the lecture. The theoretical knowledge is applied to standard Czech and its constitutive levels.
Lectures introduce students to the main areas of the field of study. In particular, it is their task to deal with the important facts and doctrinal opinions in the field and to address the current state of scientific research. They consist of lectures by the teacher as well as other forms of presentation.

Assessment and permitted materials

Oral examination on the basis of a catalogue of questions. Examination dates are subject to availability and – until further notice – can be arranged at any time.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

In order to obtain a pass mark, at least more than half of the examination questions must be answered in full. The other half can be divided into four quarters, from which the final grade is calculated according to the number of questions answered.

Examination topics

The exam content is based on the lecture (script is provided on Moodle).

A script for the course is made available via the Moodle teaching platform. This also contains an overview of the relevant literature.
