Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Whether Bulgarian symbolism had much to catch up with, because of its delay in symbolism in Europe; whether it had developed fully in this situation of displacement in time, with its peak between 1910 and 1918; whether its most significant representatives – P. Yavorov, D. Debelyanov, T. Trayanov, N. Liliev, Em. Popdimitrov – could be seen only as purely symbolic poets? Couldn‘t we trace decadence, secession, even subject poetry in their works?
The seminar deals intensively with the poetry of these emblematic Bulgarian authors and seeks answers in the complex issues of Bulgarian symbolism.
