Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The cityscapes in Bulgarian poetry are basically a sure sign of a radical ideological transformation and have manifesting character. Whether as a background of representation or as an independent object, the image of the city modifies the poetics of the lyrical texts. How the conception of the city has changed in Bulgarian poetry since the beginning of the 20th century will be shown by reading and analyzing the concrete poetic works - representative of symbolism, the avant-garde and objective poetics. Through the thoughtful or spontaneous representation of the city, the individual stages of development of modern Bulgarian poetry can be observed, and their distinctive features can be separated.
