Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course deals with the language competence levels discribed in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The primary Goal of the course is to reach the language competence at the C1 level as well as to get basic comprehense of the functional styles of Russian. The course deals with literary, culturological and linguistic scientific texts. It includes the work with original (not adapted) oral and written texts, discussions, summaries writing, and aims to be able to understand and interpretate complex special texts. Stylistic goal: to be able to refer and summarize scientific texts. Grammar goals: time relations in complex sentences, participial constructions, syntax and interpunction at the scientific level. At the first lesson will be an introduce diagnostic test for B2 level proposed, at the last lesson a final test for C1 level will take place.
Assessment and permitted materials
Regular and active participation (about 20%), permanent control (hometasks, written and oral presentations, tests and final exam at the last lesson - about 80%).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To be able to analyze and evaluate different philological texts in Russian at the mediate level; basic kmowledge about functional styles and stylistic figures in Russian.
Examination topics
Complete content of the course (text analysis based on its stylistic Features, discussions and other contributions to the actual thema, exercises based on idiomatics and analysis of artistic and scientific texts, self preparing etc.).
