Aims, contents and method of the course

Yevgeny Lvovich Schwarz was a Russian writer and playwright of the first half of the 20th century. With the plot of the folk tales and stories of Hans Andersen, Schwartz created his original pieces with lively scenic characters and actual messages.The course pursues the goal of introducing subject-related texts and programmatic statements in the subject areas, issues and orientations of Aesopian language in Russian literature and texts of Evgenij Schwarz. The course combines different methods of text analysis such as: hermeneutics, positivism, formalism, etc. We will read selected texts of Evgenij Schwarz. In addition, each student must prepare a presentation on the relevant topic. The contents of the course are conveyed through lectures, oral presentation and a group work.

Oral presentation, knowledge of the obligatory literature

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The minimum requirement for the positive assessment is regular attendance, participation in discussions and the preparation of the oral presentation.

Examination topics

It is necessary to read the literature, the list of which will be given at the first time. Dictionary during lessons and test is always allowed.

Reading list

A list of primer literature will be given during the first meeting. A list of secondary literature will be provided during the course according to the chosen topic.
