In these series of conversations and introductions memoirs of eminent Russian writers such as A. Herzen, S. Aksakow, L. Tolstoi, W. Chodassewitsch, A. Bely, G. Iwanow, W. Nabokow and others will be analysed. They shall be scrutinized for their objectivity, for their historical authenticity and for their value in terms of literature. A special emphasis will be dedicated to the role of memoirs in the culture of Russian emigration.
