Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

What could happen if unexpectedly, the basic accents in a literary history were put differently? This is not a matter of irresponsible reversal, but of facts and above all, the unspoken, neglected, or silent texts of the classical authors. Texts, that can totally transform the image they are familiar with: Iv. Vazov as a poet of the incoherent and almost symbolic hint, K. Hristov as a melancholic, Elin Pelin as a collaborator in a secession magazine and author of a novel in the spirit of Otto Weininger, Yordan Yovkov as the creator of symbolic poems, N. Liliev as the forerunner of the Bulgarian Expressionism with the poem „Tălpite“ (The Crowds) – 1911. . .

Suddenly, the cliche labels, which designate the most important representatives of a literature, lose their validity, new interconnections are formed, new boundaries between the authors are emerging, incredible references ... Another literary story, or more literary stories, become conceivable when the unlighted places in the literature are examined, and at least partially validated.
