Aims, contents and method of the course

The goal is to
- get a broader overview over matter-wave research
- learn to present your ideas freely
- learn to argue scientifically
- learn to give and accept constructive criticism

Assessment and permitted materials

You will give a presentation at least once in this seminar and attendance and active participation throughout 80% of the time is mandatory.
If you participate in the class you will be assigned (!) exactly 2 papers that you should present each in a 30 min black board talk.

Powerpoint presentations are explicitly forbidden !!
(you may of course use paper notes for yourself)

Your presentation will be graded on the day of the session by
1. Comprehensiveness and correctness of content: 40%
2. Comprehensiveness and correctness of responses to questions 20%
3. Presentation style (20%)
4. Your activity and physical understanding expressed in the discussion of peer presentations 20%
