Special habitat Moor:
This excursion focusses on the analysis of physical-geochemical conditions that are necessary for the development and maintenance of moors as well as genesis, hydrology, ecology and sociology of different types of moors. This also includes the characterisation of specific vegetation and kowledge of plants in their natural environment. Apart from higher plants, we will focus on cryptogams (mosses and algae) and analyse ecological aspects and strategies of survival of mosses, algae and carnivorous plants. In evening sessions in the transportable laboratory, we will discuss and characterize the samples that have been collected during the day and they can be documented on foto and/or video. Specific knowledge in bryology (e.g. LV 809080) is helpful but not necessary.
